ELIANA CArballo, Executive assistant

Eliana Carballo is a first generation Salvadoran-American born and raised in Northern Virginia. Due to the political tension in their home country, her family migrated to the U.S. in the 90s and actively became involved in political and social justice work, which she later grew interested in. Eliana was exposed to organizing and political efforts at a young age, from participating in several workers’ rights and immigrant rights campaigns to volunteering to do GOTV in her community. Through her passion for social justice, Eliana has been able to effectively demonstrate her commitment to her community by working with those that are under-represented. She became involved in a number of organizing efforts, specifically working with communities of color, such as New Virginia Majority and CASA in Virginia. In 2014, Eliana co-founded George Mason Student Power, a student-led organization seeking to build grassroots power for accessible, diverse, & democratic education in Virginia. Eliana holds a B.A in Government & International Politics from George Mason University. She joined The Gathering for Justice in 2019 and currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
